IMPORTANT NOTICES

  Dear Valued Customer,
>> We have become aware that some of the Technical definitions used on the pricelist may be confusing, to rectify this below are some of the questions we have received
Full-Sized Keyboard means that the keys on the keyboard are normal in sized, compared to netbooks that are 87% in size
Full-Sized Keyboard + Num Pad means that the notebook has normal sized keys and a numeric keypad

Office 2010 Starter is a limited use Microsoft office. Unlike previous versions that shipped with notebooks Starter allows
unlimited use of the Office product but limited functionality. To allow customers full Office use of
all the packages in the Office suite (word, excel, outlook, powerpoint) an additional purchase is
needed of a license key for Home and Office, Pro, Enterprise versions depending on the needs.

Care Packs All HP Notebooks, Desktops and Workstations and other hardware have the option of extended warranty purchase
This gives peace of mind and increases your customers return on technology investment by providing assistance on site by HP technicians
for 3 years / 4 years and 5 years options (depending on the notebook). We provide the standard 3 year options available for all hardware
on pricelist to make quoting easy

Accessories Both desktops and Notebooks have accessories that add functionality and options to the hardware like docking, batteries, ports
and stands. The entry level products do not support all the accessories and this is a limitation in place due to power supplies or hardware.
The higher end models support many accessories and options. We can always assist and provide options to extend and add value to your
customers purchase. Please let us know how we can assist.
  Regards,

>> WINDOWS XP END OF LINE / END OF SALE
XP HAS GONE END OF LINE // END OF SALE date for Microsoft Windows XP and keep receiving questions regarding the timeline.

Microsoft and HP have given that after the End of Sale date that has been set no factory downgraded versions of XP Pro (applies to both Windows 7 Professional downgraded to XP Pro and to Windows Vista Business downgraded to XP Pro) will be available. The date set is 1st October 2010.

With this in mind HP has defined the following time-lines

    2010/08/30   2010/09/30

    30 August 2010
1 HP END OF SALE date for Win7/Vista downgrade to XP Pro

    30 September 2010
1 No unit leaving HP facilities beyond this date will have XP Pro Recovery Media or XP Downgrade options
2 After this date units will also no longer have the XP Pro Recovery Kit.

Due to the above changes all Windows 7 Pro Custom Downgraded and Vista Custom Downgraded options have been removed from the DCC pricelist
>> OFFICE 2010 STARTER EDITION AND OFFICE 2007 TRAIL EDITION
As of September 1st 2010, all HP notebook models leaving the factory gate will include Office 2010 Starter edition and will no longer be pre-installed Office 2007 Ready.
What is Office 2010 Starter edition?
With Office 2007 Ready, all notebooks were offering a 60 day trial free version that customers would need to activate with a Media-less Licence Kit (MLK), 60 days after the first Office 2007 usage. With Office 2010, Microsoft opted to offer a no time limit version, which will allow customers to use Office 2010 but with extremely limited functionality. The usage of Office 2010 Starter does not expire in time like Office 2007 Ready did

  Preinstalled versus Preloaded
To offer a lean image to Corporate customers, Office 2010 Starter is preloaded on HP EliteBook p and HP EliteBook w series. This means that Office 2010 Starter files are located in a folder that customers can access to install it if they wish. In case they are not interested in Office 2010, they can simply delete this folder. Customers that want to have Office 2010 Home Student, Office 2010 Home Business or Office 2010 Professional will need to buy a license key to activate the functionality AFTER installing the files located in the folder.

For all other models (HP 600 Series, B Series, and S Series), Office 2010 Starter is pre-installed which means that customers can start using it once the first boot is completed. There will be an entry in the Windows Registry and Office 2010 Starter will be visible in Control Panel/Programs should you wish to uninstall Office 2010 Starter Edition. Customers that want to have Office 2010 Home Student, Office 2010 Home Business or Office 2010 Professional will need to buy a license key to activate the full functionality.

Due to the above changes all <Operating System> + <Office Option> have been changed to include <Operating System> +  Office 2010 Starter Edition OR Office 2007 as DCC cannot garauntee which version of the preinstalled Office will come with the notebooks during the transition period.
