3D DriveGuard (HP)  The hard drive is mounted directly to the notebook frame, reducing the transmission of shock to the hard drive. Uses three-axis digital motion detection with intelligent sensitivity to help protect the hard drive during normal use from shock and vibration. The digital accelerometer temporarily halts all data transfer and parks the hard drive when abrupt motion is detected. Only available in Windows Models.

HP EliteBook 2540p DVD vs. Full Voltage i5 processor  The 2540p design allows for DVD configs only with 1.8" HDD and the I7 640LM Low Voltage Processor (LM meaning Low Voltage).  The I5 Full-Voltage Processor  requires additional heat sink goes in the 1.8" HDD bay; the primary HDD must go in the DVD bay. The I7 Low Voltage processor produces less heat and we can configure the system without the additional heat sink, thereby allowing for the 1.8" HDD and the DVD. Performance of the LV processor is very similar to the I5 processor, but the 1.8" HDD is only 5400rpm with the I7 LV vs. 2.5" HDD 7200rpm with the I5 FV.  SSD is available in either config.

HP Recovery Tool HP does not provide recovery discs with newer PCs, because the user can create personal recovery discs during the initial setup of the computer. Performing a recovery returns the computer to its original condition. It removes all software and files saved to the hard drive, reinstalls the original operating system, and then runs an initial setup to install the default programs. Depending on the computer model, there are four ways to perform a recovery.
